MAIB Report It is with great sadness that we reproduce part of the Marine Accident Investigation Board (MAIB) report on the investigation into the foundering of the motor cruiser Last Call at Whitby 23 November 2007 with the loss of three lives This edited article is intended to be of educational benefit to anyone going to sea in a small boat "The sole objective of the investigation of an accident under the Merchant Shipping (Accident Reporting and Investigation) Regulations 2005 shall be the prevention of future accidents through the ascertainment of its causes and circumstances.
