How Do Ocean Training Courses work?

All our Distance Learning Navigational Courses are complete with fully interactive programs which are the heart of your learning. You work through a series of modules and at the end of each; you complete a learning exercise. Your tutor is available to mark and guide you through every stage.

At the end of your learning you are ready for the examinations which again you do at home, at sea, or wherever you are on the globe. All we ask is that someone invigilates for you. The exams will not worry you as all our courses will adequately prepare you, as long as you follow the work. We give you full certification upon completion.

Ocean Training are now able to offer the first ever MCA Blended Learning course for Officer of the Watch (Yachts under 3,000 GRT)

Blended learning means that you can learn all the theory elements of a course at sea, while working on a vessel, or at home, via e-learning. This means that you can learn in your spare time and effectively "Earn while you Learn" whether you are studying at sea or at home.

This unique facility will mean that the cost of gaining certification will be much reduced as you will not be paying out on travel or accommodation while you study the theory elements.

Once you have learnt all the theory by Distance Learning this way Ocean Training will issue you with an MCA certificate of Eligibility which means that you then proceed to a college of your choice to do the practical elements of the course such as the Bridge Simulator, Sea Survival, Fire Fighting etc.

As part of the scheme you will be allocated to your own, fully professional tutor who will mark various assignments and the final examinations. You can contact your tutor at any time, via our online system or by telephone, if you need any help.

Ocean Training is dedicated to e-learning (distance learning) and as we do not run classroom or practical courses we are always there for you at the end of an e-mail or telephone..
